LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Wednesday was a big day at ABC7 as we celebrated an area legend! Our very personal Leslie Sykes has been overlaying information throughout Southern California for 3 a long time.
The Compton native started her on-air profession in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Since day one, she has confirmed she is a devoted journalist who cares for her group.
“I could not have requested for a greater profession and higher folks to work with. You guys are like household,” stated Sykes. “I’m simply so grateful and fortunate and blessed. And I thank all of you.”
Leslie Sykes is co-anchor of the ABC7 Morning Present from 4-7am weekdays. She joined ABC7 in 1994.
Leslie was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Compton. She attended St. Joseph Excessive College after which Spelman Faculty in Atlanta, Georgia, the place she majored in English.
Upon commencement, Leslie took a job as a normal task reporter on the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Leslie accomplished an internship at KCOP and was a desk assistant at KTTV earlier than touchdown her first on-air job in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at WDAM. There she reported and anchored three exhibits a day and produced a newscast. She went on to work at WVUE in New Orleans, Louisiana.
