Border Patrol brokers dispatched to Alameda Coast Guard base as a part of immigration operation, officers say


SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Brokers with U.S. Customs and Border Safety are being dispatched to Coast Guard Base Alameda inside the subsequent 24 hours, in accordance with base officers.

ABC Information confirmed with a supply aware of the plans that the brokers are a part of an “immigration surge operation.”

“This help of DHS companies continues the Coast Guard’s operations to manage, safe, and defend U.S. borders and maritime approaches,” stated Coast Guard spokesperson. “By way of a whole-of-government method, we’re leveraging our distinctive authorities and capabilities to detect, deter, and interdict unlawful aliens, narco-terrorists, and people intent on terrorism or different hostile exercise earlier than they attain our border.”

This comes simply days after U.S. Secretary of Homeland Safety Kristi Noem hinted that brokers can be headed to San Francisco beneath the route of President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday evening, California Governor Gavin Newsom launched a press release saying he intends to sue the Trump administration if it deploys the Nationwide Guard to San Francisco.

“We do not bow to kings, and we’re standing as much as this wannabe tyrant,” Newsom stated in a press release. “The notion that the federal authorities can deploy troops into our cities with no justification grounded in actuality, no oversight, no accountability, no respect for state sovereignty – it is a direct assault on the rule of legislation.”
