LOS ANGELES — California Gov. Gavin Newsom mentioned the state is suing the Trump administration, claiming President Donald Trump illegally federalized the Nationwide Guard to confront protesters in Los Angeles.
The clashes between protesters and legislation enforcement “is precisely what Donald Trump needed,” Newsom wrote on social media Monday morning.
“He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the Nationwide Guard,” Newsom mentioned. “The order he signed does not simply apply to CA. It would permit him to enter ANY STATE and do the identical factor. We’re suing him.”
Roughly 300 California Nationwide Guard members arrived in Los Angeles over the weekend as immigration protests intensified.

Trump mentioned he had licensed 2,000 members to deploy if wanted. The president can be leaving the potential of sending the Marines open.

That is the primary time a president has taken management of a state’s Nationwide Guard with out a request from its governor in 60 years.
Throughout these demonstrations, at the least three officers have been injured and greater than 50 folks arrested.
