Elton John is sharing what he hopes his legacy will likely be — except for his iconic music profession.
“My music speaks for itself,” the “Rocket Man” singer, 77, informed “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts in a brand new interview that aired Dec. 11. “My legacy is that I used to be an awesome husband and an excellent higher father.”
“The music, the profession is unbelievable. It has been mind-blowing, groundbreaking,” he continued. “However a very powerful factor to me in my life is ensuring my youngsters are comfortable, they’ve an exquisite life and that I used to be good to them. That is all that counts.”

John shares sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with longtime husband David Furnish.
All of them joined him onstage at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium in November 2022 for the ultimate U.S. cease of his Farewell Yellow Brick Highway Tour, and Furnish mentioned a photograph from that “lovely second” hangs within the household’s kitchen at dwelling.
“Elton needed the world to actually see and really feel why he made the choice to cease touring,” Furnish mirrored.
As for if John’s youngsters know simply how large of a deal their dad is, Furnish — who co-directed “Elton John: By no means Too Late,” the brand new documentary on the Grammy-winning singer — admitted “they do and so they do not.”
“I believe one of many issues that Elton’s all the time performed, he does a present, comes dwelling, he does not speak lots about what he does, he does not play his music on a regular basis in the home,” Furnish defined. “He is daddy.”
