Houston METRO officer grazed, suspect injured in Museum District taking pictures, officers say


A Houston METRO officer and a suspect have been hospitalized following a reported taking pictures within the Museum District.

What we all know:

At about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Houston Fireplace officers say they have been referred to as to an officer-involved taking pictures scene. It was reported within the 4900 block of Jackson Road by Rosedale Road.

Acccoridng to METRO Police Chief Ban Tien, the incident began at about 3:15 p.m. with a site visitors cease within the 1500 block of Wentworth Road, near Jackson and Rosedale

Allegedly, the suspect did not have an ID. The officer tried to detain him so as to determine him, however he allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it on the officer.

The officer stepped again and ready to defend herself, however the suspect drove away.

The officer’s patrol automotive approached the suspect on Jackson and Rosedale, then the suspect reportedly began taking pictures on the officer. The officer fired again.

The suspect drove off once more, then the incident stopped across the 1800 block of Binz Road, close to Chenevert.

The chief stated the suspect suffered a number of gunshot wounds, and the officer was grazed on the again of her head.

The officer’s accidents are stated to be non-life-threatening.

The officer nor the suspect have been recognized right now. Each are stated to be of their 30s, and that is the officer’s first 12 months with METRO Police.
