WASHINGTON — Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth stated late Thursday that he can be assembly with billionaire Elon Musk on the Pentagon Friday to debate “innovation, efficiencies & smarter manufacturing.”
Musk, a high adviser to President Donald Trump, and his Division of Authorities Effectivity have performed an integral function within the administration’s push to dramatically scale back the dimensions of the federal government. Musk has confronted intense blowback from some lawmakers and voters for his chainsaw-wielding method to shedding employees and slashing applications, though Trump’s supporters have hailed it.
A senior protection official instructed reporters Tuesday that roughly 50,000 to 60,000 civilian jobs shall be lower within the Protection Division.
In a publish on Musk’s X platform, Hegseth emphasised that “that is NOT a gathering about ‘high secret China warfare plans,'” denying a narrative revealed by The New York Occasions late Thursday.
