HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Trial started on Wednesday for a person accused within the taking pictures dying of a 9-year-old lady that occurred greater than three years in the past.
Investigators say Arelene Alvarez was killed whereas on her solution to get pizza together with her household on Valentine’s Day in 2022.
A jury was chosen on Monday, and opening statements within the trial of Tony Earls, going through a manslaughter cost, started Wednesday morning.
On Feb. 14, 2022, Arlene was inside a pickup truck together with her household, headed to dinner within the Gulfgate space, in keeping with police.
Earls had reportedly simply visited an ATM and mentioned he was robbed. He says he fired a shot at a truck, which police say ended up killing Arlene.
Initially, a grand jury declined to file a cost, however in 2024, a homicide cost was filed towards Earls. That cost was dismissed, and the district lawyer’s workplace filed a manslaughter cost as a substitute.
